Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep of the facility, machinery, and operational systems at our site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct installation, repairs, and maintenance of machinery and mechanical systems through preventive measures.
- Identify issues by monitoring mechanical equipment and implementing corrective actions.
- Dismantle machinery to replace defective components as necessary.
- Manage inventory of equipment parts and supplies through regular stock checks and requests.
- Safely utilize hand tools and equipment to execute job tasks.
- Analyze problems to determine required materials and transport them to the work area.
- Prepare maintenance documentation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing findings as part of the Mechanical Integrity program.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to site procedures and regulations.
- Safely operate mobile equipment and work from ladders, scaffolds, and lifts to perform maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with other departments and crafts to ensure successful task completion.
- Perform demolition on equipment that is no longer in service.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, participating in plant safety initiatives and ensuring proper permits and LOTO's are in place before working on equipment.
- Support and comply with all quality management system requirements, including ISO-9001:2015 as applicable to this position.
- Maintain good housekeeping in assigned areas and beyond.
- Be prepared to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, for a significant portion of the workday.
- May be required to undertake additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- Demonstrated multi-craft mechanical skills and experience, including millwright, welding, and basic electrical work.
- Ability to install and align pumps, connect simple 3-phase equipment, and perform piping and valve installations.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Proficient in operating machinery and technical equipment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities, with a capacity to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently.
- Time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with various departments.
