Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity for a Landscape Architect Trainee/Assistant Landscape Architect to join our team at StateJobsNY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing landscape architecture design and support for capital program and special projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to Regional staff on environmental issues and regulations.
  • Coordinate environmental analysis and permit applications.
  • Interact with public and private entities and consultants.
  • Assist with Historic and Cultural analysis and Visual Assessment reports.
  • Prepare presentations and visualizations for various projects.
  • Prepare project estimates and proposals to secure project funding.
  • Perform wetland delineations and field inspections during construction.
  • Review project plans, specifications, documents, and correspondence.
  • Take part in management of invasive species and conservation efforts for pollinators and Monarch butterflies.
  • Prepare renderings, visualizations, map analyses, technical media, and presentation materials for decision making, design development, and delivery.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's or higher-level degree in Landscape Architecture; OR
  • A Landscape Architect's license from any state or political subdivision of the United States.
Additional Information

This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). Candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position.

Successful candidates will be expected to have good written and verbal communication skills.
