Mechanical Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Allegheny Bradford Corporation. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for creating 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, as well as reviewing project specifications and design parameters to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacturing using CAD software.
- Review and validate bill of materials for manufacturing.
- Consult with engineers and other personnel to resolve design issues and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure accurate and efficient design processes.
- Assist with peer reviews of engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and alignment with industry standards.
- Analyze design requirements from concept to finished design.
- Ensure compliance with pressure vessel related design codes such as ASME Section VIII and ASME BPE.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and perform shelf-checking of work produced for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide design time estimates as needed to estimators.
- Support other departments as required.
- Degree in mechanical drafting/design or related field.
- Proficient at 3D modeling using parametric CAD software, Autodesk Inventor a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel a plus.
- Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Div.1 a plus.
