Position Overview:

Comfort Keepers of Mt. Pleasant, SC is on the lookout for empathetic and committed caregivers to deliver vital assistance to individuals requiring help with daily living activities. As a caregiver with our organization, you will offer personalized in-home care services, including companionship and personal assistance, ensuring that senior clients remain safe, healthy, and comfortable in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Grooming & Hygiene Support
  • Assistance with Mobility, including the use of transfer aids (hoyer lifts, gait belts, etc.)
  • Transferring & Positioning Support
  • Toileting & Incontinence Assistance
  • Meal Preparation & Cooking Duties
  • Light Housekeeping & Laundry Tasks
  • Grocery Shopping, Errands, and Transportation
  • Medication Reminders
  • Experience with Dementia/Alzheimer's Clients

Qualifications:

  • Preferred minimum of 6 months of caregiving experience (Family Care counts)
  • Physical capability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Varied assistance is necessary based on the client's abilities. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as required during the shift. High-level visual and auditory acuity and effective verbal communication are essential.
  • Applicants must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for background checks and driving records.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
  • Possession of a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary to fulfill assignments consistently and punctually.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Empathy towards the needs of clients.
  • Respectful treatment of clients, families, staff, and the public; maintaining a positive public image.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of clients' medical information.
