Position Overview:
Comfort Keepers of Mt. Pleasant, SC is in search of empathetic and committed caregivers to deliver vital assistance to individuals requiring help with daily living activities. As a caregiver within our organization, you will offer personalized in-home care services, including companionship and personal assistance, to ensure the safety, health, and comfort of senior clients in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Grooming & Personal Hygiene
- Providing Mobility Support, including the use of transfer aids (hoyer lifts, gait belts, etc.)
- Facilitating Transfers & Positioning
- Offering Toileting & Incontinence Assistance
- Preparing Meals & Cooking
- Conducting Light Housekeeping & Laundry
- Managing Grocery Shopping, Errands, and Transportation
- Reminding Clients about Medication
- Supporting Clients with Dementia/Alzheimer's
Qualifications:
- Preferred minimum of 6 months caregiving experience (Family Care Experience Counts)
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull. Varied assistance required based on client capabilities. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as necessary throughout the shift. High visual and auditory acuity and effective verbal communication are essential.
- Applicants must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum standards for criminal background checks and driving records.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
- Possession of a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
- Reliable transportation is necessary to fulfill assignments punctually.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Empathy towards client needs is crucial.
- Maintain courtesy and respect towards clients, families, staff, and the public; uphold a positive public image.
- Capability to work effectively within a team setting.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of clients' medical information.
