Key Responsibilities- Consultation and Assistance: Provide consultation and assistance to Regional specialists and IFSP/IEP teams in identifying, evaluating, and providing intervention services for students who require assistive technology.
- Assistive Technology Evaluation: Work cooperatively with District and EDS personnel to determine appropriate assistive technology alternatives for students.
- Training and Technical Assistance: Provide training to District and ESD staff on evaluation and use of assistive technology.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with building team members to make decisions regarding specific assistive technology that will ensure student participation in the educational environment.
- Professional Development: Keep abreast of new technology and strategies.
- Medicaid Reimbursement: May be required to bill for Medicaid reimbursement dependent upon licensure and specific services provided within the scope of the position.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Physical Demands: Move materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Confidentiality: Respect and maintain confidential information in all situations.
- A valid Oregon Special Education Teaching license through Teacher's Standard and Practices Commission (TSPC), or licensure appropriate in the field of Speech/Language Pathology, or licensure appropriate in the field of Occupational Therapy is required.
- Must have access to reliable transportation, and consistent attendance is required.
Classification: Licensed
Reports to: Director of Special Programs and Services
