SCC is looking for a full-time Community Education Operations Manager within the Community Education Department.


ROLE SUMMARY

The Community Education Operations Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the management of Community Education initiatives, including the development, execution, and supervision of various programs and projects.

  • Engages actively in the creation and implementation of skill enhancement activities and methodologies for departmental programs.
  • Offers direction and leadership in service delivery aligned with the department's focus area.
  • Ensures that organizational strategies align with the mission and vision of St. Charles Community College.

  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills; possesses knowledge of policies and procedures impacting students, staff, and external stakeholders, applying them equitably and consistently while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively represent Community Education Operations, actively seeking new insights and tools to further the college's objectives. Fosters partnerships across internal and external boundaries to cultivate and maintain robust collaborative relationships.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor, instilling confidence and exemplifying integrity in decision-making, communication, and interactions with students, staff, and others. Creates an inclusive work environment that values diversity and promotes appreciation of differences.
  • Capable of gathering, compiling, and analyzing data/information and preparing reports as needed. Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments; develops comprehensive action plans and adapts to shifting priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Clarifies and communicates performance expectations, objectives, and roles to team members; effectively conveys ideas, instructions, and information through clear and concise communication.
  • Makes informed decisions based on thorough analysis of issues and exercises sound judgment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees the daily operations of a non-credit academic support department, providing leadership and strategic planning to ensure compliance with federal regulations and achievement of departmental goals.
  • Collaborates with departmental staff and managers to review and develop class schedules and courses, manage student enrollment, and achieve program outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Manages daily departmental functions, including program modifications, staffing assignments, operational hours, travel logistics, procurement of supplies and equipment, and monitoring of the departmental budget.
  • Partners with college leadership to ensure effective management of financial activities, ensuring budget compliance and resource allocation.
  • Serves as the primary resource for inquiries and information regarding Community Education programs.
  • Builds strong professional relationships with staff, colleagues, and college leadership in a diverse environment, supporting student success.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Master's degree or higher in communication, education, or a related field, along with two (2) years of experience in operations management; or a Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of experience in operations management; or a combination of education and experience.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

This position typically reports to a Director or Dean, though this may vary based on organizational needs.
