Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and/or provide design and engineering support to new product development teams
  • Schedule and track new product timelines and activities
  • Manage assigned projects and adjust priorities as needed
  • Function as the project engineer and team leader for new product or product improvement projects
  • Engineer and manage jobs that are variations to our standard products
  • Complete and manage product documentation, including CAD models, shop drawings, bills of material, and field instructions
  • Complete engineering change notices in accordance with established procedures
  • Understand and comply with established procedures, including design standards, CAD standards, documentation, and product safety standards
  • Perform set-up and testing, and/or assist compliance staff with scheduling and scope of product testing
  • Mentor and train other staff as directed
  • Perform process and/or software administrative duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in product design
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in bills of material and product documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Solid Works or equivalent CAD software and Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Knowledge of lighting industry and metal fabricating processes
Physical Requirements:

Extended periods of sitting required, along with occasional bending and kneeling required. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
