Senior Program Manager

As a Senior Program Manager at Briggs & Stratton Corporation, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to launch and complete complex New Product Development (NPD) and Operational Improvement programs. Your role will involve forming and leading product development teams, working with business unit leaders to scope programs, and adhering to the new product development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Form and lead product development teams to complete multiple and/or complex new product development or operational efficiency programs.
- Work with business unit leaders to scope programs at the Project Initiation stage and during the AOP/LRP planning cycles.
- Adhere to the new product development process and provide suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain capital and expense budgets.
- Be accountable for project schedules and develop creative solutions to ensure timelines are met.
- Communicate with internal and external customers regarding program status.
- Prepare and present information and presentations for NPD Gate Review meetings and Executive Project Leadership Review meetings.
- Research and implement best practices for program management.
- Lead and mentor Program Managers and provide guidance to other company employees on process and best practices.
- Serve as an advisor to other company personnel on using the process to lead small or BU specific projects.
Requirements
- Ability to prepare and present complex technical information to executive personnel.
- Advanced understanding of financial principles, including EBITDA and Return On Investment concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and negotiate effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Strong ability to lead through influence with limited direct authority.
- Ability to form, work with, and lead a team of diverse individuals in a variety of fields.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent problem-solving facilitation skills, guiding teams through issues throughout the project and driving decisions to be made with sound data in a timely fashion.
- Expert project management skills, including timeline development and tracking, open issue resolution, and waterfall/stage-gate NPD process flow.
