Job Summary

Inter-Coastal Electronics, LLC seeks a skilled Purchasing Specialist II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, services, and equipment to meet the needs of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to meet production schedules.
  • Analyze manufacturing requirements, engineering design, and technical data to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate price and terms with suppliers, and issue purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain organization of supplier lead times, MOQ, volume price breaks, and promised delivery dates.
  • Develop and maintain mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster supply continuity and transparency.
  • Assist in timely disposition and corrective actions for non-conforming purchased materials with quality team members and vendors.
  • Resolve invoicing issues with accounting and suppliers.
  • Identify, investigate, and recommend potential and existing suppliers.
  • Help identify internal and external risks in our supply chain, conduct research, and offer solutions.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.
  • Assist in creating and implementing department procedures.
  • Perform end of year Supplier Evaluations per AS9100.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience, or continued education toward degree and at least 8 years of purchasing experience.
  • Government contractor experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing or engineering industry purchasing experience required.
