About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Ambulatory Care team in General Cardiology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing support and care to patients within the General Cardiology department.
  • Work collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in the safest environment.
  • Ensure that ambulatory patients are seen in a timely manner by the appropriate clinician(s) and that appropriate coordination of care and communication is maintained with the patients and referring providers.
  • Direct patient contact in the clinic is minimal but required when requested.
  • Provide clinical telephone triage, especially for urgent clinical situations, and general nursing support for patients across the Ambulatory General Cardiology Department.
  • Maintain familiarity with department activity and a close working relationship with clinicians and support staff to provide the most appropriate triage and facilitate timely and effective communication and scheduling.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational quality management and/or quality improvement projects as directed by the leadership team.
  • Proficient use of the electronic medical record, documenting in a manner that is clear, complete, concise, and in SBAR format when appropriate to remain compliant with nursing standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is required for newly licensed nurses.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience in an Ambulatory Clinic/Practice setting required.
  • Minimum of 3 years responsible related experience as a Registered Nurse within a patient care ambulatory environment with expertise in Cardiology required.
  • Experience with telephone triage and telephone-based clinical assessment techniques required.
  • Experience providing in-person triage and direct patient care for acute and chronic conditions as appropriate for an ambulatory outpatient setting required.
  • Experience performing point of care testing and ambulatory clinic procedures required.
  • Demonstrated evidence of exemplary nursing practice and experience in multiple ambulatory specialties preferred.
  • Case Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with team-based care preferred.
