Ambulatory Care Nurse Opportunity

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. As a key member of our Ambulatory Medical Surgical Specialties team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing support and care to patients within the Ambulatory Medical Surgical Specialties & Float Pool.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with patients and referring providers.
  • Provide clinical telephone triage and general nursing support for patients across the Division of Ambulatory Medical Surgical & Specialties.
  • Maintain familiarity with department activity and work collaboratively with clinicians and support staff.
  • Participate in quality management and quality improvement projects as directed by leadership.
  • Utilize electronic medical records to document patient care in a clear, concise, and compliant manner.
  • Work in a normal office setting, with extended periods of sitting and fast-paced phone-based care.
  • Prepare, perform, and document coordination of clinical care, including medication questions, lab results, and patient education.
  • Work collaboratively to provide excellent care to patients and families in a safe environment.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum of 6 months of recent clinical nursing experience in an Ambulatory Clinic/Practice setting and/or Emergency room setting.
  • Minimum of 6 months of nursing experience with telephone triage, with telephone triage as the main responsibility.
  • Experience with in-person triage and clinical assessment techniques of an adult patient within the last 4 years.
  • Ambulatory Neurology experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in an Ambulatory Medical Specialty (not procedural) area or Primary Care with patient care delivery as an RN is strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable with all aspects of patient care in person and via telephone.
  • Case Management experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification or desire to obtain certification in Ambulatory Care or an ambulatory Specialty area within 2 years.
  • Able to work weekend rotation per the MNA contract.
