Position Overview:

The IT Learning and Development Manager plays a crucial role in crafting and executing extensive IT training initiatives tailored for legal professionals and support staff. This position will work closely with the Director of Technology Services, Human Resources, and Professional Development teams to create and implement forward-thinking training methodologies that cater to the diverse requirements of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate training sessions on firm-endorsed software using various formats, including in-person workshops, online webinars, video conferences, personalized coaching, and eLearning modules.
  • Deliver technical training for onboarding new employees to ensure a smooth integration into the firm.
  • Collaborate with management, user groups, and external partners to establish and sustain a curriculum focused on operational workflows.
  • Design, develop, and execute training strategies that align with the organization's educational goals.
  • Serve as a user experience advocate on cross-functional project teams, contributing from the initial project stages through to implementation by testing software, formulating training strategies, and creating supporting documentation.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify performance gaps and propose suitable training solutions.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to comprehend specific training needs across various roles, business units, and locations, delivering customized training solutions.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in training technology and instructional design to continually enhance training programs.
  • Maintain detailed training records within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Travel to various locations as necessary to provide on-site training.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the organization's learning and development objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in training and development within a professional services context, ideally in a legal environment.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in delivering technical training and creating training documentation.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing internal training teams and coordinating with external vendors for content delivery.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong group facilitation skills, with the capacity to adapt content for diverse audiences and delivery methods.
  • Highly organized with robust analytical skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Extensive experience in training and development, particularly within professional services.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in technical writing, with the ability to produce clear and concise training materials and user documentation. A writing sample may be requested.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, Document Management Systems (iManage Work preferred), Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office 365, Kofax PDF Pro, Time Entry & Billing Programs (Intapp Time preferred), and Document Template and Numbering software (Litera preferred).
  • Experience in eLearning development.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours as required.
