Unit Overview:

  • Located within a vibrant tropical environment, our flagship facility, AdventHealth Orlando, is a 1,368-bed hospital.
  • It serves as a major tertiary care center for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean, and South America.
  • AdventHealth Orlando features one of the largest Emergency Departments and cardiac catheterization labs in the nation.
  • We are among the busiest hospitals in the country, delivering exceptional service to over 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients annually.

Unit Details:

· Positioned on the 3rd floor of our Ginsberg Tower, the GPS unit specializes in Preoperative and Postoperative care for our Neurosurgery service line, providing high-acuity care for both Pediatric and Adult patients.

· Spine/Stroke certified unit.

· Surgical Procedures Include:

o Neurosurgery

o Interventional Radiology Surgery

o Spinal Surgery

o Seizure focus mapping

o Laser ablation

Your Role:

The Registered Professional Nurse (RN) is accountable for delivering and overseeing comprehensive nursing care to designated age-specific groups. This includes utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to meet the objectives of the nursing department. The RN adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting standards. The RN actively engages in exemplary customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all stakeholders.

Terms: 12-month Employment Contract Required for Sign-On and Relocation

Sign-on Eligibility:

· Relevant experience is necessary.

· Internal candidates and rehires within the last 12 months are not eligible.

Relocation Eligibility:

· Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the campus location.

Qualifications for Success:

What You Will Need:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current valid State of Florida or multi-state Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced life support certification (ACLS, PALS, NRP) as per specialty/unit requirements.
  • For Radiology/Imaging, PALS is required only for specific cost centers.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Professional certification.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP (based on patient population; refer to EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements).
  • Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
