Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and services to customers and employees, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform substation inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our electrical distribution systems.
- Assist in the installation and testing of primary and secondary metering equipment, as well as perform building maintenance tasks as needed.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of special equipment utilized in distribution and transmission systems, including reclosers, regulators, capacitors, and other equipment.
- Perform various types of tests and inspections to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our electrical distribution systems.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of electronic control equipment and perform tasks related to its operation and maintenance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of technical training programs for employees.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the electrical utility industry, preferably in a technical services or distribution system role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, including transmission and substation equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Valid Texas driver's license and ability to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) as required.
- Work may be performed in an outdoor environment, including exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, and weather conditions.
- Work may involve climbing, bending, and lifting, as well as working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a positive and productive work culture.
