About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Athletic Program Coordinator. In this role, you will assist with the planning, coordination, and evaluation of our school's athletic programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the recruitment, orientation, and mentorship of coaching staff on a seasonal basis.
  • Assist with pre-season and post-season coaches meetings and the development of clinics and in-services for coaches' professional development.
  • Enforce established guidelines for proper behavior of coaches and athletes, promote team spirit, and approve participation in activities such as clinics and playoff games.
  • Secure personnel necessary to provide supervision/coverage for all athletic events and coordinate with Transportation the travel requirements for competitions.
  • Inspect the playing site for safety and playability and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Assist with coordinating League Play, including addressing weather condition issues, rule interpretation, scheduling conflicts, and transportation conflicts.
  • Attend athletic contests to observe and correct as necessary the administration of these events.
  • Develop positive relationships with various individuals, community groups, and businesses, local colleges and universities for the benefit of the District's athletic programs and athletes.
  • Promote and advertise athletic services to students, faculty, and community in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
  • Participate as a key leader in the athletics department to identify gaps in service for students, family, and community members.
  • Monitor and analyze outcomes related to school athletic goals and prepare reports for submission to school leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in a closely related field.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience in an urban school system or three years serving as an Activity Coordinator or similar role dealing with issues related to student athletics.
  • 2+ years of previous coaching experience is required.
  • 0+ years of previous athletic league play scheduling, ensuring adequate coaching and refereeing resources are available on a district-wide basis.
