The Club at 12 Oaks is a private country club offering a range of high-end amenities and social events for members of all ages. Our elegant colonial-style clubhouse features an upscale bar, members-only dining room, and a large patio overlooking the greens.
As a Youth Counselor, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences for our youngest members. This part-time position involves joining in, supervising, and leading activities for children aged 3 and older, which may include arts and crafts, board games, group games, dinner, cleaning and maintaining the youth room, hosting games or trivia nights, activity planning, resource management, building trust with youth, family engagement, record keeping, reporting, conflict resolution, supervision, safety protocols, and first aid.
We are seeking energetic, friendly, and creative individuals to join our team. You should have prior experience working with groups of children, be able to promote, lead, teach, and conduct group activities, control a group of children and maintain order, enforce rules, resolve conflicts, and be spatially aware while promoting a fun and safe environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be professional at all times, well-spoken and an effective communicator to children, staff, management, and parents, responsible, have integrity, and a strong work ethic. We prefer candidates with teaching or childcare experience and certification such as Child Development Associate or CPR/First Aid.
The ideal candidate will be available year-round for Friday and Saturday shifts, including evenings, and be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, during school breaks, and summer camps. As a member of our team, you will have opportunities for cross-training in other departments and contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Join in, supervise, and lead activities for children 3 and older, fully toilet trained
- Deliver exceptional experiences for our youngest members
- Build positive relationships with youth and their families
- Maintain accurate records of youth participation, progress, and incidents
- Report on program activities, outcomes, and youth progress
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure physical and emotional well-being
- Provide basic first aid and handle emergency situations
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with groups of children
- Ability to promote, lead, teach, and conduct group activities
- Control a group of children and maintain order
- Enforce rules, resolve conflicts, and be spatially aware
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
- Availability year-round for Friday and Saturday shifts
- Teaching or childcare experience preferred
