Role Overview
The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Veteran Cycling Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning and execution of cycling events tailored for veterans. These inclusive events encompass both single and multi-day rides, utilizing adaptive and standard cycling equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the cycling team to strategize, resource, and implement events.
  • Engage with veterans to encourage participation in cycling events, utilizing various technologies for seamless communication.
  • Coordinate logistics with the Events team, ensuring proper arrangements for accommodations, meals, and travel.
  • Manage transportation logistics for participants and the cycling fleet.
  • Serve as the primary contact for veterans, providing them with essential information regarding events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local vendors, community supporters, and volunteers.
  • Work with local authorities for event support and ensure compliance with necessary permits.
  • Oversee inventory and ordering of promotional items and equipment for events.
  • Assist in all aspects of event execution, including equipment handling and participant check-in.
  • Foster an engaging environment for veterans, promoting connection and learning.
  • Demonstrate cycling proficiency and provide coaching in various cycling modalities.
  • Facilitate virtual programming through various online platforms.
  • Collaborate with teammates and community partners to promote WWP events.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to coach and support veterans in achieving their cycling goals.
  • Basic understanding of bicycle mechanics and adaptive cycling equipment.
  • Intermediate-level cycling fitness and experience in group riding.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse individuals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and a mission-driven approach.
Experience Requirements
  • Two years of intermediate-level cycling experience.
  • Two years of administrative or business experience.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
Work Environment
  • Participation in outdoor activities under varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel as needed for events.
  • Physical demands may include lifting items up to 50 pounds.
