Job Summary

The Department of International Health at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Grants & Contracts Analyst to manage financial and administrative activities for sponsored research grants and contracts. This role will be responsible for coordinating grant proposals, creating and reviewing budgets, and ensuring compliance with university and sponsor regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with faculty and research staff to plan and develop grant submissions to various federal and private agencies.
  • Coordinate grant proposals, create and review budgets, and ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines.
  • Manage assigned grant submissions to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Track proposals, contracts, and other documentation through the signature and approval process.
  • Serve as liaison between research units, central offices, and funding agencies.
  • Coordinate the setup of awards, including reviewing award documents and ensuring personnel are set up appropriately.
  • Monitor receipt of payments from sponsors and participate in the development of payment schedules.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of progress reports and Financial Status Reports (FSRs).
  • Administer the expenditure of funds, ensuring compliance with sponsor stipulations and university guidelines.
  • Analyze budget patterns, project expenditures, and develop financial reports for forecasting and results analysis.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Four years of related experience in sponsored research and/or financial positions, preferably in an academic or medical setting.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Coeus, NIH eRA Commons.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation and grant submission process.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting theory and practices.
Working Conditions

This is a hybrid position, with a mix of remote and on-campus work. The successful candidate will be required to work independently with minimal supervision and manage administrative and financial activities for assigned faculty.

Johns Hopkins University offers a competitive salary range of $62,900 - $110,100 annually, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
