Position Overview:
The role involves overseeing project activities related to the design and execution of business processes, legislative initiatives, and supporting information systems projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate project activities ensuring alignment with established business objectives.
- Implement project management methodologies for the successful delivery of technology-related projects.
- Facilitate the creation and documentation of project determination materials in accordance with organizational guidelines.
- Manage project scope, deliverables, risks, and issues effectively.
- Engage with business and IT personnel to gather project requirements and insights.
- Collaborate with departmental stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular status updates to program management and relevant stakeholders.
- Document lessons learned and lead project closure activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology Project Management.
- At least 2 years of experience in a structured Project Management Office (PMO) environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
- Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
- Willingness to undertake additional related responsibilities as required.
Education:
A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in state agency operations and adherence to project management guidelines.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Project Management Institute's best practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently while fostering teamwork to meet project timelines and maintain documentation.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
