Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Assistant Pastry Chef to support our Kitchen Manager and execute all production needs in the kitchen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and executing daily production needs, preparing and cooking a variety of made-from-scratch treats, and managing inventory.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Kitchen Manager in planning and executing daily production needs, including preparing and cooking made-from-scratch treats, managing inventory, and developing production schedules.
- Operate all kitchen equipment, including the Emery Thompson Batch Ice Cream Freezer and Pasteurizer, and assist with pasteurization.
- Develop and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, and collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to ensure product quality meets our strict quality standards.
- Train and guide kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and productivity, and develop and implement production schedules to meet quality and quantity standards.
- 2+ years of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a pastry or ice cream production environment.
- Demonstrated passion for culinary advancement and commitment to quality and excellence.
- Ability to work 30+ hours a week consistently, including days, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods of time.
