Job Summary
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified Clinical/ Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional clinical care and instruction to our students, interns, and residents.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide and supervise clinical care delivered by students, interns, and residents assigned to the internal medicine service.
• Offer consultation to clients and referring veterinarians.
• Support our after-hours emergency service.
• Participate in didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students.
• Contribute to the scholarly achievements of our research team.
Requirements
• DVM or equivalent foreign degree.
• Completion of an approved American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine ACVIM and/or the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA).
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal interactions.
• Eligibility for a Virginia faculty veterinary license.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced Degree (MS, PhD).
• Board Certified Veterinary Internist.
• Clinical Experience in small animal internal medicine.
• Experience in teaching.
• Leadership record.
• Previous scholarly activity.
