Strategic Category Manager for Indirect Site Purchasing

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Category Manager to lead our Indirect Site Purchasing team in North America. As a key member of our purchasing organization, you will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies that drive cost savings and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Category Management: Develop and implement category management strategies to optimize purchasing decisions and drive cost savings.
- Sourcing and Contract Management: Lead sourcing activities, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal value proposition and drive savings.
- Performance and Reporting: Develop and maintain KPI reports to track program performance, ensure regular stakeholder engagement, and prepare progress reports for management.
- People and Operational Management: Manage a high-performing team, coach and mentor direct reports, and drive regional project engagement through on-site travel and supplier relationship management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Logistics, Business, or similar field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing company/environment preferred; 5+ years' experience in purchasing, sourcing, and procurement with a focus on indirect goods and services highly preferred.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence all levels of employees and management; deep understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, and total cost methodologies.
