Job Title: Sr. Manager, Energy Purchasing

Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Energy Purchasing will play a critical role in supporting the implementation and management of energy-related functions within the North American region. This position will be responsible for leading strategic energy purchasing initiatives, contracts, pricing, and decarbonization efforts in compliance with corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy Supply Management: Develop and execute strategies for physical supply contracting, on-site solar/renewables/distributed generation contracting, and analysis of emerging energy technologies.
  • Energy Derivatives & Financial Products: Analyze energy market trends, develop financial hedging strategies, and manage VPPAs, REC purchasing, energy budgets, and energy modeling & analytics.
  • MR4 Energy Model Management: Lead energy usage and price reduction initiatives, decarbonization efforts, and energy security/resiliency programs.
  • Vendor & Change Management: Oversee vendor performance and compliance, vendor energy consulting & project oversight, onboarding & offboarding of vendors, and purchasing operations.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Energy, Business, or relevant experience in the required field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience in the energy sector or adjacent sector, specifically in energy supply purchasing and contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of solar/renewables/distributed generation contracting, emerging technology analysis & sourcing, energy market analysis, modeling, & techno-economic analysis.
  • Financial hedging, VPPA contracting & economic modeling, REC purchasing, energy budgeting, and energy management & decarbonization.
  • Certifications preferred: AEE Certified Energy Procurement Professional (CEP), AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
