Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Ambe Healthcare Staffing. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fills prescription items, packaging medications for dispensing and delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels.
  • Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy.
  • May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves, and remove out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Prepares medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • May process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned, including working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room, operating automated machines to prepack drugs, managing inventory functions, and inputting patient data and medication orders into a computer system.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate a computer and recognize and identify medications.
  • Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, team player, and effective oral communication.
  • Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Desired: Long Term Care pharmacy experience.
Work Environment

This is a contract position with a competitive hourly rate of up to $19.00 per hour. The work environment is a long-term care setting with a rotating schedule, including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts.
