PLC Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled PLC Technician to join our team at QPS Employment Group. As a PLC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and configure PLCs and other automation systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with PLCs and automation systems
  • Program and configure PLCs and other automation systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and testing on PLCs and automation systems
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to maintain plant operations and support new projects
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED, associate's degree in industrial controls technologies or related field, 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation/automation field or a combination of education and experience
  • PLC, HMI or DCS certifications preferred
  • Calibration experience is a plus
  • H.A.R.T. communication experience is a plus
  • CMMS software experience preferred
  • Advanced level understanding of automated control systems and integration, electronics, robotics, fiber optic sensors, pneumatic-hydraulic controls, HMI touch panels and PLC programming
