Quality Assurance Automation Specialist

The QA Automation Specialist is responsible for creating and maintaining automated functional tests which are performed against Innovative Renal Care’s (IRC) software applications. This individual will create repeatable tests that ensure that IRC’s custom applications are stable, secure, and performant.

Essential Functions
1. Analyze existing and new applications in order to develop automated testing strategies.
2. Participate in requirements gathering to understand development features and business rules.
3. Work with application developers and department stakeholders to define test scenarios.
4. Create functional automated tests to maximize application test coverage.
5. Create tests which exercise REST web API methods.
6. Create tests which drive the web client user interface.
7. Create data-generation routines for supporting automated tests.
8. Create tests for measuring application performance.
9. Create tests which ensure applications are in compliance with IRC’s security and data protection standards.
10. Support the execution of automated tests in a continuous integration environment.
11. Research new testing technologies which could enhance the quality of IRC’s custom applications.
12. Other tasks, duties and projects as assigned.

 

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work & Travel

This is a Full-Time position. Hybrid, on-site, or remote work options available. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours of work may vary based on business need. Travel is not expected with this position.

Required Education and Experience
− BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
− 2-4 years of experience creating automated functional tests.
− Proficient with commercial/open source testing software such as Selenium, Ranorex, Progress Test Studio, etc.
− Experience in coding in an object oriented language such as C# or Java.
− Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development.
− Experience writing tests for multiple web browsers (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc.).
− Experience in best practices for testing web application security (HTTPS, authentication, authorization).
− Experience in working with third party UI components such as Telerik Kendo UI is a plus.
− Experience in a Healthcare environment is a plus.
