Publicity Manager

BMG is seeking a highly skilled Publicity Manager to join our team in Nashville. As a key member of our Publicity Department, you will be responsible for overseeing and securing innovative publicity campaigns for our diverse roster of chart-topping artists. This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent communication skills, a strong network of media contacts, and the ability to think creatively to elevate artists' public images and music careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Pitching and securing stories in media outlets
- Drafting and servicing media alerts/press releases
- Developing and maintaining various press materials for artists across the label group
- Building relationships with journalists and music bookers
- Acting as the liaison between artists at the label group and different members of print, online, and TV media companies
- Taking lead to pitch media for new music and album releases and tour dates for the artists for which they are responsible
- Seeking out-of-the-box relatable lifestyle-driven opportunities for artists
- Attending various events with the artist where media may be present, such as red carpet events, concerts, festivals, and more
- Previous experience working in Publicity and strong knowledge of the music and entertainment industry
- Ability to operate at a high level in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with and manage a variety of different personality types
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills and ability to cultivate relationships
- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Proficient in email marketing systems: Muck Rack, Emma, Podchaser, Mailchimp, etc.
- Detail-oriented and proactive, while using sound judgment and high confidentiality
- At least two years of experience in a role serving as a lead contact for booking earned media
- Willingness to travel to coordinate media partner events and interviews
