Job Overview:
Execute cleaning operations in indoor environments following established protocols and guidelines.

Areas serviced include, but are not limited to communal spaces, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, entryways, conference rooms, large gathering areas, and office spaces. Responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing restrooms and restocking supplies, washing windows and walls, cleaning ceiling tiles and vents, vacuuming carpets and upholstery, and performing other detailed cleaning tasks as necessary.

Engage in intensive cleaning duties such as stripping, sealing, and waxing hard-surface floors, which may involve relocating furniture. Manage waste disposal by removing and discarding landfill, recycling, and compostable materials from containers throughout the facility.

Conduct cleaning tasks in outdoor areas adjacent to the building as instructed, including walkways, windows, railings, and similar external surfaces. Responsibilities also include sweeping, pressure washing, window cleaning, and operating power equipment like blowers and pressure washers.

Maintain general cleanliness and perform additional duties as assigned. Address unexpected cleaning requirements as they arise, such as spills, graffiti, and other unforeseen incidents.

Assist in monitoring the inventory of cleaning supplies, tools, and restroom materials in storage areas throughout the facility; promptly inform the supervisor of low stock items; clean and maintain tools and equipment as directed; organize and maintain storage spaces as required.

Be vigilant and rectify or report any deficiencies regarding maintenance or overall presentation observed in any area; document observations and communicate with the supervisor or complete maintenance work orders as appropriate.

Ensure adherence to safety standards, OSHA, ADA, and other relevant regulations at all times. Operate industrial laundry equipment to wash, dry, and iron tablecloths and linens as required.

Occasionally assist with room setups and breakdowns (including moving furniture) as directed.

Perform other tasks as assigned, including specialized cleaning projects.

Expected Salary:
$15.65 per hour with additional shift differentials applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of ninth grade.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in comprehensive building cleaning, including floor care, wall surfaces, windows, and general cleaning of offices, restrooms, and food service areas. Familiarity with contemporary cleaning techniques, products, and materials, including chemical handling and disposal of hazardous materials.

Proficiency in computer usage and basic software applications. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Capacity to function effectively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously. Understand, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Collaborate effectively as part of a team in a diverse environment.

Normal Work Schedule:
This is an overnight position from 11:00 pm to 7:30 am; days off will rotate based on departmental needs. Weekend shifts are required on a rotating basis.

Custodial staff are considered 'essential personnel' and may be called to work in emergency situations.

A criminal background check is mandatory. This position is eligible for veteran's preference.
