Job Overview: Challenge Enterprises is seeking a dedicated individual to fulfill the role of a janitorial support staff member. This position involves executing cleaning tasks for office environments and associated areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing of floors and staircases.
- Sanitize and maintain cleanliness in restrooms.
- Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, and restroom stall walls.
- Restock supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and communal areas as needed.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners, ensuring cleanliness of waste areas.
- Collect and sort recyclable materials appropriately.
- Dust and clean office desks and furniture that are organized.
- Maintain cleanliness of windowsills, windows, and stairwells.
- Organize and keep janitorial closets clean and safe.
- Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Utilize personal protective equipment consistently.
- Follow proper labeling, dilution, and usage guidelines for all cleaning chemicals.
- Report any damages to cleaning equipment and maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow verbal instructions.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Basic understanding of cleaning products and willingness to learn about Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDs).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
This role involves routine walking, standing, bending, and lifting items weighing less than fifty pounds. For items exceeding fifty pounds, a team lift is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
