Job Title: Spacesuit Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Spacesuit Test Engineer to join our team at Mclaurin Aerospace. As a key member of our JETS II contract team, you will be responsible for performing project and test engineering functions for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute test plans, hazard analyses, test procedures, and Test Readiness Review documentation
  • Design and develop test rigs, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
  • Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities
  • Setup and execute tests, and prepare summary reports documenting test results
  • Become a certified Suit Test Engineer and lead the execution of spacesuit testing
  • Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within spacesuit hardware, development test articles, or test support hardware
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering in the field or a related area
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and component level and system level testing
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a project engineer or test engineer
  • Experience with NASA test processes
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical hardware elements, and data acquisition systems
