Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Leasing Specialist to join our team at J.F. Shea Family of Companies. As a Leasing Specialist, you will be responsible for presenting and leasing our brand new apartment community to prospective residents, providing exceptional customer service, and participating in the marketing of the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Presents and leases apartments to prospective residents, providing personalized tours and ensuring a seamless leasing experience.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to current residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participates in the marketing of the community, including writing and posting Craigslist ads, responding to leads, and conducting off-site marketing activities.
  • Works closely with the property management team to achieve lease-up goals and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Compiles welcome paperwork, establishes move-in appointments, and completes thorough walk-throughs of apartments and community amenities.
  • Gathers competitive market information, prepares routine reports, and shares information with the on-site management team.
  • Ensures close-out procedures are completed at the end of each leasing week and champions the corporate rental program.
Requirements
  • 6 months sales and/or customer service experience in a related industry, such as property management, hospitality, retail, or real estate.
  • Apartment leasing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Yardi experience a plus.
  • Time management and organization skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or some college preferred.
Work Environment

The Leasing Specialist works on-site at a new apartment community, interfacing with external and internal customers, residents, and vendors on a regular basis. The position's work schedule varies depending on the property, with hours typically scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Leasing Specialist is required to work weekend days and must be flexible with availability depending on the needs of the property.
