The Accounting Officer (Specialist) position within the General Ledger Unit requires a high level of attention to detail and analytical skills. As an integral part of our team, you will perform professional accounting functions, adhering to OFS guidelines, Governor's Budget, Department of Finance rules, State Controller's Office policies, and government codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting tasks in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
  • Utilize Financial Information System of California (FI$Cal) PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office for efficient data management and analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless execution of accounting processes.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum two years of experience in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
