Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an Early Career Environmental Engineer to join our team at WSP USA. As a key member of our Earth & Environment Team, you will be involved in projects that support our clients' objectives and help solve their environmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Career Environmental Engineer, you will be responsible for providing local technical assistance for the collection, identification, and compilation of environmental and engineering data from various media. This will include soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air/vapor sampling. You will also be responsible for generating accurate and concise documentation, ensuring that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.

What You Will Do

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing routine field work related to soil sampling, soil gas sampling, groundwater sampling, stormwater sampling, boring logs, and other assignments as designated.
  • Maintaining quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
  • Generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
  • Complying with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, the maintenance of sample collection, location data, laboratory documentation, and logbooks.
  • Utilizing the latest technologies and techniques in performing studies and analysis of organic and inorganic compounds to determine their composition.
  • Completing training on assigned tasks.
  • Exercising responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhering to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, or a closely related discipline. You will also need to have excellent research skills with an analytical mindset, familiarity with relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others. Additionally, you will need to be proficient in technical writing, office automation, and communication software, technology, and tools, and have a proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Compensation

The expected salary for this role is $67,500 - $92,800, depending on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
