Job Title: Director of Operational Resilience

SMBC Group is a top-tier global financial group with a 400-year history, offering a diverse range of financial services. We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Operational Resilience to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Director of Operational Resilience will be responsible for implementing and maintaining SMBC's Operational Resilience framework, focusing on understanding and documenting how our Important Business Services work and how we would continue to provide these services in the event of business disruption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement key program components across required Operational Resilience workstreams, including Governance, Scenario Development, Testing, and Crisis Management.
  • Drive efforts around education, awareness, and adoption of the Business Resilience program across SMBC.
  • Perform new activity review, ensuring resilience risks arising from new products and/or businesses, migrations, etc. are properly considered.
  • Connect and align SMBC's operational risk management processes with the operational resilience framework.
Requirements:
  • Mastery of project execution and delivery with proven track record of successful large, complex, multi-team projects.
  • Knowledge of core competencies across the 4 Pillars of Operational Resilience (Business Resilience, Technology Resilience, Third Party Resilience, and Cyber Resilience).
  • Experience creating policy, procedure, and playbook documents.
  • Ability to interface with senior management and deliver concise & effective messaging to drive understanding of Operational Resilience core components.
