About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Ascension Illinois. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and solutions, as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
  • Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
  • Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor/track instrument count throughout procedures.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required: Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Technical degree or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
