Surgical Technologist Job Description

**Job Summary:**

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Downers Grove, Illinois. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prepare the surgical field and deliver supplies and instruments to the surgical team.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a cooperative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain professional growth and development.

**Requirements:**

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent knowledge and skills.
- CPR certification.
- Certified Surgical Technologist certification within 3 months of employment.

**Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:**

- Ability to work with exposure to body fluids, waste, and chemicals.
- On-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Rotating shifts.
- Ability to move heavy patients and equipment.
- Ability to bend, squat, and kneel as needed.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Flexibility to deal with stressful, changing environments.
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
- Ability to communicate, cooperate, and work well with others.
