Clinical Nurse II- Infusion Center- FT Day Shift

Your Role on the Team
We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Infusion Center. As a key member of our care team, you will provide patient care to an assigned group of patients, incorporating psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills. You will also assist in patient research accrual by reviewing patient schedules against available protocols and acting as a role model to students and new Clinical Nurses. Additionally, you will function as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor/manager.
What It Takes to be Successful
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience and completion of OCN Cancer Basics class
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum of six months demonstrated nursing experience
- Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
- Current chemotherapy/biotherapy card required within 3 months of hire
- Current California RN license
- Current BLS certification
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians, and others as part of a care team
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications
We also welcome applicants with the following qualifications:
- Understanding of JCAHO requirements
- Oncology Certification
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
