Job Title: Infusion Nurse - Blood Disorders Specialist

Reports to: Infusion Manager

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate infusion appointment bookings while maintaining timely patient flow.
  • Perform general nursing assessment, care, and education in accordance with infusion center protocol.
  • Prepare medications, equipment, and supplies while ensuring medication rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Insert short peripheral vascular access devices and discontinue central vascular access devices safely.
  • Administer ordered infusions, various injections, subcutaneous, oral, and other medications.
  • Accurately document patient care services within the electronic medical record.
  • Perform lab work/testing and provide follow-up on test orders, reporting results to providers and patients.
  • Observe and report patient condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to the provider.
  • Transfer patients to the Emergency Department per protocol or provider's order.
  • Oversee, supervise, and assist medical assistants on their assigned tasks.
