Job Title: Water Operator I

The Village of Hebron, Ohio is seeking a full-time Water Operator I for the Hebron Water Department.

Job Summary:

This is a full-time position that works under the direction of the Water Superintendent in the daily operation, maintenance, and quality services at the water treatment plant.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor treatment processes and calibrate chemical feed requirements
  • Process control sampling and laboratory testing
  • Adjust chemical dosages/feed rates
  • Maintain daily logbook entries and daily duties
  • Document maintenance and record laboratory testing and test results
  • Conduct routine sampling and monitor independently
  • Monitor meter readings for all treatment related flows
  • Inspect water plant and distribution system for needed maintenance/repairs
  • Complete assigned customer service work orders
  • Locate main valves, water lines, and service valves as requested
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace automated and chemical fed equipment
Requirements:
  • Class 1 Water Supply Operator certificate required at the time of hire
  • Minimum of one year experience in the water treatment field
  • Knowledge of equipment, instruments, and materials in the water plant and laboratory
Working Conditions:

This position works in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
