Position Overview:

The Quality Control Specialist plays a critical role in verifying that materials and products meet established standards and specifications. This detail-oriented position requires a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and product testing protocols. Quality Control Specialists collaborate with manufacturing teams to document defects and ensure that any non-conforming products are addressed appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce company and regulatory quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct, document, and analyze chemical and physical tests to monitor production quality.
  • Review and audit product quality data in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain records of nonconformance and ensure compliance through tracking systems, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Report quality deviations to supervisors and relevant team members.
  • Develop and implement quality control protocols.
  • Update procedures for documenting and investigating product complaints.
  • Investigate quality issues and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure that all practices align with established quality standards.
  • Provide technical support to department leaders for projects and experiments.
  • Identify and assist in the reclassification of rejected materials.
  • Support experimental and project work by documenting and analyzing operational data.
  • Recommend enhancements to processes, standard practices, and product evaluations.
  • Conduct process audits as per operational guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in metallurgy, chemistry, or a related field; five years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in industrial manufacturing; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance terminology, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business documents, technical procedures, and regulations. Capable of writing reports and correspondence effectively.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as statistics and geometry to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Work Environment: The characteristics of the work environment are typical of those encountered in a manufacturing setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to navigate stairs and move around the facility multiple times per shift.
  • Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 15 lbs.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US.
