Position Overview:
This role is crucial for ensuring that materials and products meet stringent quality standards. The Quality Control Specialist will focus on identifying defects and ensuring compliance with both internal specifications and external regulations. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and product testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement company and regulatory quality standards for product manufacturing.
  • Conduct, document, and assess chemical and physical tests to control production processes and evaluate the quality of in-process and finished goods.
  • Audit and review product quality data following established procedures.
  • Maintain records and tracking systems for compliant and nonconformance processing, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Report deviations from quality standards to supervisors and management.
  • Develop and enforce quality control procedures.
  • Update procedures for documenting and investigating product complaints.
  • Investigate product quality issues and ensure resolutions align with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure practices adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support to department heads on projects and experiments.
  • Identify rejected materials and assist in their reclassification and disposition.
  • Support experimental and project work by documenting and correlating operational data and results.
  • Recommend enhancements in processes, standard practices, and product evaluations.
  • Conduct process audits as specified by operational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in metallurgy, chemistry, or a related field; five years of quality assurance experience in industrial manufacturing preferred; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including probability, statistical inference, and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Computer skills: Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Work Environment: The role may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to sit for extended periods and walk throughout the facility.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 15 lbs.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US.
