Public Works Financial Supervisor

Join our team at Kitsap County, WA, as a Public Works Financial Supervisor. This role is responsible for performing complex professional accounting work, supervising support staff, and providing management with necessary financial information for diverse areas of the interdepartmental accounting system.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform complex professional accounting work, including grant accounting, contract management, and fiscal reporting.
- Supervise support staff and accounting activities to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive departmental grant accounting systems, construction contracts, job costing, work orders, labor distribution, contract management, purchasing, and fiscal reporting.
- Ensure compliance with performance standards, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to public fiscal affairs.
- Oversee accounts payable and procurement processes.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Five years of professional experience in government accounting, finance, and budget.
- One year of supervisory experience.
- Equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
- Experience working in a government agency, preferably county government.
- Experience conducting utility rate studies, financing strategies, and multi-year forecasts for utility funds.
- Experience managing accounts payable and procurement.
- Construction contracting experience, including managing multiple contracts for construction of capital assets in a public environment.
- Asset management and reporting experience.
- Experience using Workday.
