Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at Washington University. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining insurance information from patients and counseling them on alternative ways for financial assistance.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Obtain insurance information from patients and counsel them on financial assistance options
  • Schedule and register patients over the phone or by email, with no patient contact
  • Communicate with physicians and clinical staff to assist with scheduling urgent or referred patient scheduling calls/requests
  • Provide patient scheduling services, including collecting demographics and insurance registration
  • Explain billing process to patients and answer incoming inquiries from patients and third-party payers
  • Assist staff with sending out reminder cards and other scheduling duties
  • Make daily edits and temporary changes to provider scheduling templates based on physician input

Requirements:



  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of billing systems and insurance regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
