About the Role

Carnival UK is a leading cruise company that operates iconic brands such as P&O Cruises and Cunard. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second Officer (Deck) to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake the safe navigation of the ship using radar, ECDIS, and other bridge equipment.
  • Monitor the ship's position, speed, direction, and stability, as well as weather reports, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Supervise Junior Officers and Cadets on watch and support the First Officer with training needs.
  • Maintain and update the Deck Log and records, including ILO and ballast logs.
  • Ensure all statutory certificates are up-to-date and report any deficiencies to the Deputy Captain.
  • Conduct safety-related maintenance tasks, including monthly mooring line inspections.
Requirements
  • Chief Mates Unlimited Certificate of Competency issued by UK MCA or other approved nationality.
  • STCW Basic Training, ideally including Advanced Fire Fighting.
  • Valid ENG1 medical certificate for the duration of each voyage.
  • US C1/D visa and full vaccination.
