POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. With approximately two years of hands-on experience in project management and/or project management-related responsibilities, the candidate will manage day-to-day project activities, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure seamless communication between stakeholders. The role requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives projects through the project life cycle, tracking progress, escalating issues and coordinating resources with management.
  • Track project performance to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Schedules, facilitates, and supports all scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, etc.
  • Maintains and publishes all project artifacts including release log, issues log, resource schedule, testing schedule, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Anticipates, identifies and escalates risks/impediments affecting self, team, department, or company.
  • Maintains strong communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
  • Looks for and suggests improvements in efficiencies to reduce costs.
  • Identifies potential risks and issues, proactively mitigating them to ensure project success.
  • Utilizes project management tools to monitor tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.


QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of Project Management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or business-related studies
  • Certifications for first level: CSM, PMI-ACP, PMP, PSM
  • LOCAL TO KANSAS CITY – THIS IS AN IN-OFFICE POSITION


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certifications for second level: A-CSM, PSM-II/III, CSP, CTC
  • Some sort of a training background or experience would be highly preferred


RECRUITER NOTES: The ideal candidate will have roughly 2 years of experience in a project management-type functional role (PM/Coordinator/Planner, etc) and is passionate about growing their career in Project Management. They want someone a little “greener” so they can mold them into how they run projects.

Starting out this role will be primarily involved with more operational type projects – working with the business units and various vendors (new and existing) on software implementation projects and potentially some team initiatives projects on how to grow and adapt the organization. This will grow into more of a technical PM role as the resource gets acclimated to their culture, etc.
