Job Description

Vertex Innovations is seeking a highly skilled Construction Oversight Representative to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of complex telecom construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage construction projects to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with customers, vendors, and contractors to ensure project success.
  • Implement and enforce project scope, quality, and safety standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in mission-critical/data center construction.
  • Extensive background/knowledge in telecom, commercial electrical work, emergency generators, PLCs, EMSBs, cooling towers, CRACs, CRAHs, AHUs, HVAC systems, AC power systems, DC power, maintenance windows, data centers, mobile switching centers, and central offices.
  • Solid understanding of building architecture, mechanical, electrical, structural, and fire protection.
  • Experience in all MEP construction.
  • Extensive background/experience/knowledge of OSHA guidelines and standards, including lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Experience in the method of procedure (MOP) process.
  • Experience commissioning data center systems.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

This full-time position is exempt. Days and hours of work may fluctuate based on the needs of the client and the project. The minimum work requirement is 50 hours each week. The projects are predominantly scheduled for day shift construction activities, however, project will require "maintenance window" work, which is considered night shift.

Applicant must be able to be on site at the project location at all times. Non-local candidates must be able to be away from home location with only 1 weekend trip home per month.

Applicant must be able to work flexible schedules, including but not limited to, all nights, days, weekends, and holidays if necessary to accommodate all construction activities related to the projects.
