Job Title: Practical Nursing Instructor

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Practical Nursing Instructor to join our team at HCI College. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education services to our students, fostering a supportive learning environment, and ensuring the delivery of consistent and high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver course lectures, facilitate labs and clinical rotations, and monitor equipment and supply needs.
  • Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and adheres to HCI policies.
  • Seek out approved substitutes in case of faculty member's need for absence.
  • Enforce HCI policies, including attendance, dress code, and clinical policies.
  • Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies.
  • Work on retention plans and program development.
  • Attend staff and faculty meetings.
  • Participate in committees and knowledge sharing forums.
  • Facilitate student engagement and direct and assess student progress in achieving theory and performance requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and follow-up as needed.
  • Identify at-risk students in a timely fashion and implement an action plan for success.
  • Assess students and provide developmental feedback.
  • Work one-on-one with students and be available for one-on-one assistance/tutoring.
  • Advise students and provide weekly assessments, follow-up, and evaluation of the plan.
  • Record grades and submit reports.
  • Adhere to departmental grading policies and maintain grade books.
  • Grade projects and exams and provide students with mid-term evaluations and progress reports.
  • Submit final grades and monitor progress and attendance.
  • Take and report daily attendance and enforce tardy and absence policies.
  • Report attendance issues to the DON/ADON.
  • Provide weekly feedback reports to the ADON, DON, Chief Academic Officer (CAO)/Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Group Campus President/Chief Operating Officer (COO).
  • Maintain any relevant licensures, certifications, and other required maintenance of paperwork for personnel file.
  • Encourage students to submit course evaluations and review course evaluations when available.
  • Participate in accreditation activities and comply with all governmental regulations and standards of accreditation.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of an earned Associate's degree with a major in nursing (ASN or equivalent) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor's degree with a major in nursing (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited nursing program (Preferred).
  • Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the Florida Department of Health.
  • Current and active Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.
Working Environment:

This position is an onsite position based out of West Palm Beach (Main Campus) or Fort Lauderdale (A Branch of West Palm Beach).
