Job Overview
The Financial Aid Systems Analyst is accountable for the evaluation, enhancement, and support of the student information system, specifically focusing on the Banner ERP system in relation to financial aid management. This role encompasses the testing of the Banner system and its upgrades, collaborating with functional stakeholders to establish design specifications and modifications to current functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop functional and technical specifications based on user requirements utilizing system analysis and design methodologies.
- Configure and sustain the financial aid module to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations as well as user specifications.
- Conduct testing of patches and upgrades for the Banner Financial Aid module.
- Write complex SQL queries and manage population selections.
- Create, configure, and execute Banner job process flows using the Automic Enterprise Applications Manager, ensuring output is directed to Banner ePrint.
- Generate advanced reports using IBM Cognos BI for various stakeholders.
- Facilitate secure daily file transfers between TCC, Federal Student Aid, and the Oklahoma State Regents.
- Prepare and submit reports to Federal and State agencies as required.
- Maintain compliance with data security regulations, including GBLA, Privacy Act, FERPA, and HEA, by managing and updating access control lists for sensitive PII data within Banner.
- Ensure data integrity by identifying and resolving data discrepancies, collaborating with different college departments to enhance data accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues as part of ongoing improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with application systems, ideally in Financial Aid-related applications.
- Proven skills in writing SQL Select Queries.
- Experience in system design, analysis, implementation, and process testing.
- Familiarity with Banner Financial Aid, Cognos, SQL, Appworx, and/or Workflow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in project management.
- Background in process and job automation.
