Job Summary

Library Systems & Services is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead the coordination and implementation of large-scale development projects, focusing on data warehouse and data analytical tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, project management, and advanced data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the technical aspects of multiple large-scale development projects, from inception to implementation.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of data warehouses and analytical tools, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and performance standards.
  • Architect, design, and implement database solutions, including Cloud-based platforms such as Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure the integration and optimization of various software products and solutions, including Oracle, Oracle Data Warehousing, SAS BI, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Python, and R.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize databases across multiple platforms, including Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Perl, Java, Oracle PLSQL, C++, HTML5,.NET, and C# to create robust visual interfaces and applications for data management.
  • Mentor and guide a team of developers, providing technical oversight and ensuring best practices in software development.
  • Conduct code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations.
  • Provide technical documentation and training to end-users and stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a similar role, with demonstrated experience as a technical lead for large-scale development projects.
  • Strong expertise in database management systems, including Cloud-based solutions such as PaaS and SaaS.
  • Proficiency in a variety of software products and solutions, including Oracle, Oracle Data Warehousing, SAS BI, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Python, and R.
  • Experience working with multiple platforms, including Unix, Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Perl, Java, Oracle PLSQL, C++, HTML5,.NET, and C#.
  • Proven experience in developing visual interfaces and applications for data collection, storage, display, and dissemination.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills.
